CREDITS

Psiborg is all my own work, and isn't directly based on anything else. Any similarities to other bots are purely coincidental. However, I did use TheFatal's bot frame as a reference when starting ; I may like to write my own code whenever possible, but I'm no masochist.

THANKS

Botman, for his excellent website and research into HL bots. He also deserves thanks for releasing the source code - originally, I half-intended to use this as a base for Psiborg, but decided against it.

William van der Sterren, for so many intelligent and thoughtful forum posts. William somehow finds the time to lurk almost everywhere; his posts (and website) are well-written and full of insight.

The #hl_coding irc channel for quick answers to dumb questions.

OTHER REFERENCES

A random list of sources that I found helpful. Any opinions are my own.

GameDev has a 'References' section, with some information on AI. The quality of the articles varies widely, but there are a few good papers on A* and navigation in general.

On-line papers:

'An optimal pathfinder for vehicles in real-world digital terrain maps', Markus Jönsson

Books:

'Artificial Intelligence : A modern approach', Russell & Norvig

'Reinforcement Learning : An introduction', Sutton & Barto
